I found out that it is better to set aside time in class to go over the composition drafts and for students to revise the drafts on the spot.
Class management issues:
1) Have follow-up asssignments for those you finish early.
2) Check the work again after the revision is done (Preferably in class if time permits)
3) Simple Monitoring system (Use of whiteboard) to determine who is done and what is due.
